Fostering an early interest in scientific topics is one of the Wilo-Foundation’s key funding priorities, regarding particularly environmental, water, and technology-related fields. In this context, the foundation supports the technical and digital equipment of schools in Dortmund and Hof. The materials are used in extracurricular clubs and school projects, for example:
- iPads for upper secondary students at Heinrich-Böll Comprehensive School in Dortmund-Lütgendortmund
- 3D printers with accessories for Heisenberg Gymnasium in Dortmund-Eving
- Science club materials for Leibniz Gymnasium Dortmund
- FabLab, Space Elevator, STEM camp, and tablet classes at Schiller Gymnasium Hof
- Laptops for the computer lab at Freie Montessori Primary School Berg in Hof
The funding focuses on extracurricular activities and project-based learning. Here, students can experiment, program, and conduct research beyond the standard curriculum. The goal is to stimulate natural curiosity and build a bridge between school and the digitalized world of work.
