From 2012 to 2014, the Wilo-Foundation (acting as trustee of the WILO-Stiftung) supported the German Scholarship Program for students in order to strengthen equal opportunities and educational participation in Germany. By funding three scholarships in Saxony-Anhalt, the Foundation enabled young talents from challenging backgrounds to access excellent support.
At the time, the program of the Roland Berger Stiftung was already based on a comprehensive concept that went far beyond purely financial assistance. The supported scholarship holders benefited from intensive, long-term guidance:
- Individual learning plans: Each young person received a tailored development plan designed to advance their progress across ten different learning areas.
- Volunteer mentoring: Mentors acted as trusted contacts, supporting the children and young people and serving as key intermediaries between families, schools and the Foundation.
- Focus on potential: The scholarship program specifically targeted students who demonstrated strong motivation to perform and a high level of personal commitment.
