The EUREF Talent Campus in Düsseldorf celebrates its official opening

The Wilo-Foundation supports the development of master degree programs financially.

Together with North Rhine-Westphalia’s Deputy Prime Minister Mona Neubaur, the rectors of the scientific partner institutions, the University Alliance Ruhr (TU Dortmund, RUB Bochum, University of Duisburg-Essen), the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, corporate partners, supporters, and the first students, the EUREF Talent Campus in Düsseldorf was officially opened on October 2nd.

The Wilo-Foundation, alongside Schneider Electric, Spie, Convex Energy, and the Düsseldorf municipal utilities, has been a partner of the EUREF Talent Campus, financially supporting the development of innovative scientific programs in the form of international master's degree courses focused on topics such as sustainable energy and mobility. Evi Hoch (Board Member of the Wilo-Foundation) attended the opening and expressed her delight:
“As a long-standing supporter of the science region, we are particularly pleased to be involved in this new, forward-looking cooperation model - a ‘living lab’ for sustainability and energy. It builds important bridges: conceptually between science, business and society, and physically between the region and worldwide application. The crucial link will be the international students, whom we, true to our funding motto ‘empowering young people’, plan to support with awards and scholarships in the future.”

Young talents from all over the world will be trained directly on site and will work hand in hand with companies (including Schneider Electric, SPIE, E.ON, Wilo, etc.) on solutions for the energy and mobility transition. Thus, the EUREF Campus Düsseldorf is the first sustainability and innovation campus in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Starting this autumn, in the winter semester 2025/26, the master’s degree programs will kick-off: the Master of Science in Sustainable Energy and Hydrogen Infrastructures and the Master of Science in Management of Smart and Sustainable Energy Systems. As part of the hydrogen program, seminars will also be offered at the Wilopark, led by Richard Schmidt, Head of R&D Hydrogen (Wilo Group).
