David Höltgen was appointed to the Executive Board of the Wilo-Foundation at the end 2025 and has since been responsible, among other duties, for the global social engagement of the family foundation as well as the activities of the non-profit WILO-Stiftung.

After completing his studies (Master of Arts in Communication Studies and History), he began his professional career in the international start-up sector at foodora GmbH, where he served as Regional Manager for Marketing & Sales.

He subsequently transitioned into the foundation sector when, in 2017, he became Head of Communications at the well:fair Foundation (formerly the Neven Subotic Foundation, Dortmund). In this role, he frequently accompanied the implementation of the foundation’s WASH (Water, Sanitation, Hygiene) projects in East Africa.

A native of Essen, he has continuously expanded his international professional experience since joining the Wilo-Foundation in 2021 among other things through his participation as a moderator or panelist at international conferences.
