In line with its motto “empowering young people”, the Wilo-Foundation is supporting Enactus, the world’s largest experiential learning platform dedicated to creating a better world while developing the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders and social innovators. Teams of university students harness their business and technical knowledge from various disciplines in specially designed projects that are of relevance to society and in this way provide “help for self-help”. In national competitions and during the international Enactus World Cup, the Enactus teams present their projects and impact to a jury consisting of experts and representatives of companies and foundations.
The global 1 Race 4 Oceans competition is an additional thematic event that is part of the Enactus World Cup and is being funded by the Wilo-Foundation in the period 2020/2021. Its aim is to encourage and support Enactus students worldwide in developing and implementing useful approaches to address the crisis of the oceans and promote the responsible use of water as a resource. Here, the Wilo-Foundation also provides financial support for coaching and mentoring activities aimed at supporting selected Enactus student teams during the project development stage.
In April 2020, the Wilo-Foundation decided at short notice to support the #EnactusCares initiative in India. In view of current social developments in connection with the Covid-19 pandemic, Enactus India has designed a virtual programme for students in India, helping them to implement initiatives and projects that foster strength, team spirit and resilience in the challenging times of Covid-19. The format of “learn & share sessions” gave students an opportunity to present their project ideas and exchange views and comments. The Wilo-Foundation also supports the organisation’s “Ideas For Impact Contest” by sponsoring the prize money for the best ideas.
As part of its individual country partnerships, the Wilo-Foundation supports the National Cup in Germany and India.
