International University Challenge on water issues
To promote young talents and the sustainable use of resources, the Wilo-Foundation supports the University Challenge organised by Deutsche Vereinigung für Wasserwirtschaft, Abwasser und Abfall e.V. (German Association for Water, Wastewater and Waste, DWA) in Hennef. The goals of the novel University Challenge is to promote young water management engineers in China (Shanghai), India (Mumbai), South Africa (Johannesburg) and Turkey (Istanbul) on the occasion of the IFAT trade fair.
At the DWA University Challenge, teams of students and PhD candidates explore the issue of “integrated water resource management”. Their task is to equip a fictitious landscape with smart solutions in basic supply services within a specified time limit. The winning teams are presented with the “Young Water Award” during the IFAT trade fairs. The first prize is donated by Wilo-Foundation: an invitation to IFAT in Munich, where the world’s leading fair for water, wastewater, waste and resource management takes place every two years.
