VDI Technology Fund – Promotion of technical education
The WILO-Stiftung (managed in trust by the Wilo-Foundation) is one of the supporters that provide funding to the VDI Technology Fund of the Association of German Engineers (Verband Deutscher Ingenieure e.V. – VDI) based in Düsseldorf.
The aim of the VDI Technology Fund is to promote general technical education in Germany and to support young talents in this field. Across Germany, schools and education initiatives that focus on general technical education can submit funding applications for their projects to the VDI Technology Fund. For schools, the maximum funding amount is 2,500 euros, which they can use to make technical teaching and experimental activities more lively and interesting. The same amount is available for education initiatives and extracurricular learning institutions.

With about 145,000 members, the VDI is Germany’s largest technical-scientific network. As the voice of engineers and technology, the network actively shapes the future. Every year, more than 12,000 honorary experts develop the latest insights to promote Germany as a hub for technology. The VDI is the third largest technical standardisation body in Germany and is thus an important partner for German businesses and academia.
